Writing
One of my passions is making psychological ideas accessible beyond the therapy room.
Psychology offers extraordinary insights into why we become who we are, why we behave in the ways we do, and why change can sometimes be so difficult. Yet many of these ideas remain hidden behind academic language, psychological theories, or the walls of the therapy room.
I love exploring these ideas and translating them into something accessible and useful — something that helps us understand ourselves, our relationships, and the people around us.
Everyone Makes Sense
At the heart of my writing is a simple assumption:
People make sense.
That doesn't mean everything people do is reasonable, healthy or right. It means that even behaviour that appears irrational, contradictory or self-defeating often becomes understandable when we learn enough about someone's history, relationships, emotional world and the ways they have learned to protect themselves.
Everyone Makes Sense is where I explore these ideas, drawing on psychodynamic, developmental, attachment-based and relational psychology.
My hope is to help people develop a different way of seeing themselves and others — replacing judgement with curiosity, and curiosity with understanding.
I publish my essays as Dr Daniel Mørken on Substack, where you can read them freely or subscribe to receive new essays directly by email.
